Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Weekend nights, 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Block schedules; minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. Availability for some weekdays and holidays may be required; floating across units within the OSU organization as needed.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in MedSurgical and Telemetry settings
- Assess patients, develop reliable care plans, and deliver timely interventions
- Perform IV starts, manage PICC and peripheral lines, and handle blood product administration
- Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to support rapid response
- Float safely and professionally between units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, PT, Pharmacy, Rapid Response) for coordinated care
- Document thorough, timely charting in EPIC to maintain continuity and compliance
- Support emergency and code responses when required to keep patients safe
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MedSurgical nursing experience (explicit requirement)
- Current BCLS/BLS certification (required)
- Proficiency in IV start/therapy, telemetry monitoring, and EPIC electronic health records
- Travel nursing experience required (per job data)
- Comfort managing patient ratios of approximately 1:4–1:5
- Preferred: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS certifications and Trauma Level I/II experience
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills; ability to adapt while floating
Knowledge & Skills
- MedSurgical nursing and Telemetry monitoring
- IV therapy, IV starts, PICC line care and peripheral line management
- EPIC electronic health record proficiency
- Chest tube care (Emerson/PleurEvac) and external CPAP/BIPAP experience
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and interpretation of ABGs
- Phlebotomy, wound care/Wound VAC, and feeding tube care
- Pre/post hemodialysis management and familiarity with renal failure care
- Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response participation
- Tracheostomy care, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen therapy
- Isolation precautions, PCA/heparin protocols, and management of drips without titration
