Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced cardiac telemetry monitoring and deliver timely, evidence-based care
• Assess and manage patients with STEMI/NSTEMI, chest pain rule-outs, and CHF exacerbations
• Care for post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients transitioning from ICU
• Operate and manage noninvasive ventilation for respiratory support
• Safely administer IV antiarrhythmic medications and monitor for effect and adverse events
• Identify and manage peripheral vascular compromise with prompt interventions and escalation
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiology, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to Med-Surg and the Emergency Department when needed to support patient flow
• Maintain accurate documentation, follow facility policies, and participate in patient/family education

Qualifications

• Current Oklahoma RN license (Compact allowed) — required
• ACLS certification — required
• NIHSS certification — required
• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience in telemetry/CVCU or critical care (submission requirement)
• Comfort and ability to float to Med-Surg and ER to take CVCU/Med-Surg holds
• Flexibility with scheduling (NO BLOCK SCHEDULING) and strong teamwork skills

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• STEMI and NSTEMI management pathways
• Congestive heart failure (CHF) assessment and treatment
• Noninvasive ventilation setup and patient management
• Post-cardiothoracic surgery care and ICU-to-floor transition
• Administration and monitoring of IV antiarrhythmic medications
• Assessment and management of peripheral vascular compromise
• Critical care nursing principles and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to maintain a 1:4 patient ratio in a cardiovascular care setting
