Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert critical care for MICU/SICU patients with a focus on safety and positive outcomes
• Manage advanced hemodynamic monitoring including A-lines, CVCs, and pulmonary artery catheters
• Titrate vasoactive drips and manage complex ventilator settings for mechanically ventilated patients
• Perform and assist with unit procedures such as chest tube insertion, tracheostomy care, bronchoscopy support, and intubation
• Manage neurocritical care needs including EVD and lumbar drain management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech and communicate critical changes to the care team

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California preferred or compact where applicable)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH
• Greater than 1 year of recent ICU experience (MICU/SICU experience preferred)
• Demonstrated competency with advanced ICU skills: arterial lines, central lines, invasive monitoring
• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts and adapt to unit-specific policies and floating expectations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care knowledge: hemodynamics, ventilator management, sepsis care, trauma and neuro management
• Experience with EV1000, tele monitoring systems, and bedside ventilators
• Familiarity with CRRT/SLED dialysis modalities and chest drainage systems
• Competency in procedures and emergency airway management including intubation and tracheostomy care
• Comfort using Meditech for documentation and clinical communication
• Excellent assessment, prioritization, and communication skills in high-acuity settings
