Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist geriatric residents with personal care including bathing, dressing, toileting and grooming with compassion and respect
• Obtain and record vital signs, report abnormalities, and support accurate charting in Net Solutions
• Administer medications (oral, topical, etc.) under facility protocols and assist with medication processes like QuickMAR when needed
• Support ADLs: assist with ambulation, feeding, turning/repositioning and incontinence care to promote dignity and safety
• Coordinate tasks and schedule duties among PCTs to maintain smooth daily operations
• Participate in resident orientation and provide input for individualized care plans
• Perform specimen labeling/transport, phlebotomy basics (preferred), and routine clinical procedures as trained
• Adhere to infection control, PPE protocols, and facility safety procedures at all times

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of prior experience working with seniors (first-timers not accepted)
• Current BCLS (required)
• Medication administration experience preferred
• Reliable transportation required (travel pairs must have their own transportation)
• Ability to work required weekend schedule every week and flexible to block schedules
• Locals within a 50-mile radius accepted
• Pending license not accepted; no specific professional license required for this role

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; CNA or related coursework helpful but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven patient care skills and comfort working in long term care / assisted living
• Vital signs measurement and interpretation (adult & pediatric parameters familiar)
• Basic phlebotomy and specimen handling (preferred)
• Charting experience; Net Solutions is used at this facility (Epic preferred elsewhere)
• Familiarity with infection control, PPE donning/removal and isolation precautions
• Experience with patient transport, Hoyer lifts, bedside commodes and other assistive equipment
• Ability to perform CPR and basic emergency responses
• Comfort with clerical duties like labeling/transporting specimens and routine documentation
