Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate and coordinate perioperative care for GEN/GYN/GU/Pedi open and laparoscopic cases — keep the OR running smoothly
• Collaborate with surgeons, CSTs and the anesthesia team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Prepare the OR and instruments, verify counts and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures
• Anticipate team needs and proactively manage supplies and workflow to minimize delays
• Perform thorough handoffs and documentation to maintain continuity of care
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond professionally and promptly when needed

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (required) and eligibility to practice in Texas
• Proven experience as a circulating RN in the OR for GEN/GYN/GU/Pedi open and laparoscopic cases (must-have)
• Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical environment and participating in on-call coverage
• Travel RN availability for a 13-week contract beginning 2025-10-27
• CST experience listed as a primary skill for the unit (teamwork with CSTs expected)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing knowledge for open and laparoscopic procedures
• Familiarity with pediatric, gynecologic and genitourinary surgical workflows
• Excellent sterile technique, instrument familiarity and operating room protocols
• Ability to collaborate closely with surgical techs (CST) and multidisciplinary teams
• Robotic experience (preferred) — desirable but not required
