Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive sonographic examinations (ABD, OB/GYN and other requested exams) for diagnostic interpretation
• Maintain accurate patient records and paperwork associated with each procedure
• Apply radiation protection principles and exercise professional judgment during procedures
• Care for and maintain transducers and the neatness of your work area
• Assist with ultrasound invasive procedures and provide safe patient transfers
• Participate in and help maintain departmental quality assurance and accreditation efforts
• Pursue continuing education and support policy/procedure development in the imaging area
• Step into supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the manager and assist with ancillary duties as requested

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS in at least one category (required)
• AB/OB ultrasound experience (explicitly requested for this position)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association (required)
• Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality
• Willingness to rotate shifts and travel to other SEARHC sites when needed
• Demonstrated ability to work well under stress and collaborate across teams
• Desire to pursue additional RDMS categories (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS) is encouraged

Education

• Current ARDMS certification in one category (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Progression encouraged toward multiple ARDMS categories (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic medical sonography across requested body parts (ABD, OB/GYN)
• Quality assurance processes and accreditation participation
• Transducer care and Trophon station maintenance
• Patient positioning, transfers, and age-appropriate care across the lifespan
• Interpreting clinical information to support radiology reporting and physician consultation
• Comfort with continuing education and expanding modality skills (vascular, cardiac, etc.)
