Surgical Tech - CVOR

Location: Bismarck, ND

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM, plus call requirements (3-4 weeknights, every other to every third weekend, rotating holidays)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert surgical assistance during open heart procedures, including CABG, valve surgeries, and aneurysms
Prepare sterile instruments and ensure a safe, organized operating environment
First scrub on complex cardiovascular cases and assist thoracic and vascular surgeries
Cross-train to general OR and support as a 1:1 patient sitter when needed
Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 coverage for emergent surgeries

Qualifications

Must have at least 2 years of CVOR experience with hands-on open heart surgery
BLS certification required upon hire
CST or NCCT certification required
ND UAP certification required
Must be willing to cross-train to general OR and float as a 1:1 sitter
Call response time of 15 minutes with nearby housing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in open heart surgery, including CABG, valve repair, and aneurysm repair
Proficient in robotic surgery, ECMO, Impella 5.5, and Stryker towers
Strong sterile technique and first scrub skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with a family atmosphere
