Speech Language Pathologist - Per Diem
Location: Portland, Oregon
Start Date: 08-17-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 8.5-hour shifts, days and times vary based on availability
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions to help patients improve communication and swallowing skills
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and families on treatment strategies and home exercises
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Oregon state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or CFY candidates welcome
- Experience working with pediatric populations preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of speech and language development
- Proficient in conducting diagnostic assessments and interpreting results
- Knowledge of swallowing disorders and treatment techniques
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to build rapport with patients and families
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
