Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation and titrate ventilator settings to optimize patient respiratory status
• Perform respiratory assessments and ABG sampling to inform clinical decisions
• Provide nebulizer and other airway therapies to improve patient outcomes
• Assist with intubations and participate in rapid responses/CODE events as a crucial team member
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document interventions accurately in the EMR and communicate changes in patient condition

Qualifications

• Current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (critical care/ventilator experience emphasized)
• Strong critical care and assessment skills — ventilator management is a must
• Experience with ABG sampling and nebulizer treatments
• Comfort assisting with intubations and participating in rapid response/CODE situations
• Team-player attitude and ability to thrive in a busy unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management (Servo and 840 familiarity noted)
• Critical care respiratory therapy practices
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
• Nebulizer treatments and airway management
• Intubation assistance and rapid response/CODE participation
• Assessment skills and clinical judgment in high-acuity settings
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems (preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
