Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation and provide expert ventilator management for critical care patients
• Deliver noninvasive ventilation and administer inhaled therapies including nitric oxide and heliox when indicated
• Perform arterial puncture and other bedside procedures safely and accurately
• Care for a wide range of patients — neonates through geriatrics — across ICU, NICU, ER and floor therapy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan and document respiratory care effectively
• Operate and troubleshoot common ventilators and respiratory equipment to maintain optimal therapy
• Prioritize patient safety and infection control during all respiratory interventions
• Provide clear, timely charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care during night shifts

Qualifications

• Mechanical ventilation and critical care experience required
• NICU experience preferred; NRP required if NICU experience is present
• Experience with noninvasive ventilation, arterial puncture, and inhaled medications (including surfactant)
• Comfort administering inhaled nitric oxide and heliox
• Willingness to complete a virtual interview and submit a combined resume + full skills checklist as one document
• Ability to work night shifts consistently as scheduled

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and mechanical ventilation skills
• Experience across ICU, NICU, ER and floor therapy environments
• Skilled in noninvasive ventilation and arterial puncture
• Familiarity with inhaled medications: LABA, LAMA, SABA, ICS and surfactant
• Experience with inhaled nitric oxide and heliox therapies
• Comfort using equipment such as Drager V500, VN500, Evita XL, Carina, Philips V60 and V30
• Ability to manage common diagnoses: respiratory failure, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, CHF, ARDS and COVID-19
