Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care and treatments for patients with respiratory insufficiencies
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients
• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide therapy decisions
• Deliver and monitor CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer therapy, and chest physiotherapy
• Set up and operate ventilators including Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral models
• Document patient care accurately in the Meditech EMR and maintain clear clinical notes
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and discharge needs
• Participate in department quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
• Comfortable with mechanical ventilation and ABG analysis
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Trauma experience preferred and highly valued

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator modes
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
• Nebulizer therapy, CPAP and BiPAP management
• Chest physiotherapy (CPT) techniques
• Hands-on experience with Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral ventilators
• Clinical documentation in Meditech EMR
• Strong critical thinking, teamwork and patient-focused approach
