Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care across the perioperative continuum, from pre-op through PACU, for neonate to geriatric populations
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons and anesthesia providers to deliver seamless care
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready for each procedure
  • Perform accurate patient assessments, document clearly, and communicate effectively with the surgical team
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

  • Active Idaho or compact state RN license required upon hire
  • Must be able to use high-level reasoning to assess patients and adjust care plans as needed
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Windows
  • Multiple years of surgical experience preferred but not required
  • Willingness to take call for emergency surgical services on a routine basis

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates, Diploma, or BSN Degree

Knowledge & Skills

  • Patient assessment and perioperative nursing
  • Surgical asepsis and medication administration
  • Communication with surgical team and patient advocacy
  • Competence in circulating and scrub roles (training provided for scrub)
  • Knowledge of anesthetic drugs, actions, and side effects
  • Instrument processing, sterilization, and biological monitoring
