Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform neuro and spinal checks to monitor patient progress
• Manage C-Collar placement and TLSO braces for trauma patients
• Care for patients with chest tubes, PCA pumps, and IV infusions
• Assist with lumbar drains and feeding tube placements
• Administer blood transfusions and monitor for reactions
• Collaborate with a team of RNs, CNAs, and charge nurses to ensure quality care
• Maintain a patient ratio of 4:1 for focused, attentive care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
• 2 years of experience in progressive care or stepdown unit
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Neuro and Trauma Care experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong neuro and trauma assessment skills
• Proficient in Cerner EMR
• Team player with a patient-focused approach
• Ability to handle high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment
