Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and document patient histories
• Start IVs and administer medications as ordered
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and what to expect
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and readiness
• Monitor vital signs and report changes promptly
• Advocate for patient comfort and dignity throughout the pre-op process

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio or a compact state
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous pre-op, PACU, or perioperative experience is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compassionate environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
• IV insertion and medication administration
• Surgical preparation and sterile technique awareness
• Clear communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Empathy and calm demeanor in high-pressure situations
