Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Continuously assess and monitor patient status, recognizing and responding to changes quickly
• Administer medications, treatments, and advanced life support as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members to create personalized care plans
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients' families during stressful moments
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold the highest standards of patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state
• Current BLS certification required; PALS strongly preferred
• Previous PICU or pediatric critical care experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts and adapt to changing patient needs
• Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to delivering family-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and protocols
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Ability to remain calm and organized in high-pressure situations
