Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pediatric patient assessments and document findings clearly and promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following prescribed orders and protocols
• Respond quickly and effectively in pediatric and neonatal emergencies using BLS/PALS/NRP skills
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to create and update individualized care plans
• Educate families and caregivers on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation and handoffs
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes
• Ensure compliance with required screenings, immunizations, and health documentation

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license for Pennsylvania (or eligible for state licensure)
• Nursys verification as indicated
• Certifications required: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP
• Completion of required checklist/testing: Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, Prime Specialty Exam, Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam
• Up-to-date immunizations and screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, TB test (or documented negative chest X-ray), and a physical/health statement
• Able to pass a 10-panel drug screen, fit test, and color-blind test

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of pediatric and neonatal clinical care and best practices
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and pediatric dosing
• Proficient with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication and family-centered care skills
• Calm, decisive critical thinking in urgent and emergency situations
• Teamwork orientation with the ability to coordinate care across disciplines
