Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide advanced care for progressive care patients, ensuring stability and recovery
• Collaborate with a tight-knit team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
• Manage patients with common diagnoses such as CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, and more
• Administer medications and manage drips including PCA pumps, cardizem, and insulin
• Perform hourly rounding and maintain responsiveness to patient needs
• Float to medical-surgical areas as needed, supporting the highest need units

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or stepdown experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Telemetry competency required
• Driver's license for verification of distance from facility
• Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation with 90% or higher

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in EPIC charting system
• Strong telemetry monitoring skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Knowledge of Alaris IV pumps and mechanical lifts
