Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean clinical environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Manage patient records and schedule appointments efficiently

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification in Maryland (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience in orthodontic or dental assisting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to providing compassionate patient care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a dental assisting program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Proficiency in taking digital X-rays
• Familiarity with dental software for scheduling and records
• Skill in sterilization and infection control protocols
• Excellent organization and time management abilities
