Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, and educational needs to develop a comprehensive plan of care
• Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care during orthopedic and total joint procedures
• Implement and document nursing interventions based on physician orders and evidence-based practice
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, recovery, and discharge planning
• Serve as a patient advocate and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control standards in the OR

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in Washington state or compact license
• Minimum 2 years of licensed RN experience in the operating room
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required within 90 days if assigned to pediatrics
• Associate's degree or diploma in nursing (higher degree preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in circulating for orthopedic and total joint surgeries
• Perioperative nursing knowledge and best practices
• Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
