Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive admission assessments and medication reconciliation for patients transitioning from the ED
• Initiate acute care orders and provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Monitor telemetry and step-down patients, intervening promptly to ensure patient safety
• Collaborate with a fast-paced interdisciplinary team to enhance patient throughput and reduce length of stay
• Float to other units within your skill set as needed, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork
• Participate in patient experience initiatives by prioritizing safety and compassionate care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact) - we can help with licensing!
• Minimum of 2 years recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and/or Step-Down (PCU) experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• A positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Charge nurse experience is a plus, but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Cerner electronic documentation
• Experience with Baxter IV pumps
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage a 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratio in a combined MedSurg/Step-Down setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
