Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver exceptional patient care for adult and pediatric patients in a dynamic Med/Surg unit
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for diverse patient populations
• Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric services
• Collaborate with a talented team of healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care addressing age, physiological, spiritual, psychosocial, and developmental needs
• Lead and support unit staff in meeting the unique needs of each patient under your care
• Work closely with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor to foster a collaborative environment

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of acute care experience required
• Current Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure (must be active)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required prior to start
• ACLS certification required prior to start
• Preference given to candidates with Meditech experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills using the nursing process
• Ability to provide care for both adult and occasional pediatric patients
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for team-based care
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records is a plus
• Adaptability to work in a critical access hospital setting
