Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to adult patients, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately in Epic
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following hospital protocols and ACLS/BLS guidance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans that improve patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and escalations, using NIH Stroke Scale when appropriate
• Float between like units as needed to support patient care and staffing demands

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in North Carolina) — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Comfortable and experienced with Epic electronic charting
• Ability to work night shifts and every-other-weekend schedule
• Willingness to float between similar units to meet facility needs
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Strong medical-surgical nursing assessment and intervention experience
• Confidence charting and navigating Epic
• Excellent clinical judgment and prioritization under busy conditions
• Clear communication and teamwork with nurses, providers, and support staff
• Familiarity with ACLS algorithms and NIH Stroke Scale assessments
