Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to acutely ill adult and perioperative patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop timely nursing plans, and implement interventions
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams for emergent and elective surgical care
• Administer medications, manage IVs and post-operative orders with precision and safety
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge planning
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record and ensure continuity across shifts
• Support and mentor unit staff and nurse assistants to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider level BLS required
• AHA ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing; experience with surgical patient care (emergent and elective) is preferred
• Medical-Surgical specialty certification (e.g., CMSRN) strongly encouraged and supported

Education

• Perioperative and post-operative patient care knowledge

• Familiarity with ACLS protocols and NIHSS stroke assessments
