Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and reassessments following policy
• Assess and manage pain using appropriate techniques, and educate patients and families on pain management
• Develop, revise, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient response and treatment effectiveness
• Administer medications safely and correctly, following the five medication rights
• Create and implement patient teaching plans, involving families in the learning process
• Provide age-appropriate care while respecting the physical, psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and families to reduce the risk of medical errors
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and care coordination to ensure comprehensive care
• Document accurately according to current standards and policies
• Operate equipment safely and correctly, and supervise patient care as needed

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Postpartum and nursery care experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications from AHA required
• Active Ohio RN license required
• BSN degree preferred
• COVID vaccination card required if vaccinated

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Strong patient assessment and reassessment abilities

• Care plan development and evaluation
• Safe medication administration following the five rights
• Patient and family education and documentation
• Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and nursery care
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
