Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to laboring mothers and their newborns in a fast-paced LDRP unit
• Attend deliveries independently, catching babies and ensuring smooth transitions
• Circulate during C-sections, assisting the surgical team with confidence
• Titrate critical drips including magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin to manage high-risk patients
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart tracings using Centricity-perinatal system
• Coordinate with charge nurses, CNMs, OB hospitalists, and NNP to deliver seamless care
• Float between L&D and postpartum/mother-baby to support the entire birthing experience
• Educate patients and families on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience (no first-time travelers, but 1 year considered with multiple prior travel contracts)
• Current RN license in Washington or compact license eligible
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Intermediate or advanced fetal heart monitoring (FHM) preferred
• EPIC experience strongly preferred
• Ability to adapt to unit workflows and embrace feedback from a supportive manager

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in LDRP nursing, including delivery attendance, C-section circulating, and baby catching
• Skilled in titrating IV drips (magnesium, Pitocin, insulin) with precision
• Strong fetal heart monitoring interpretation skills
• Comfortable transitioning newborns and providing immediate postpartum care
• Familiarity with Centricity-perinatal EFM system
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a high-acuity environment
