Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, compassionate care to expecting mothers and newborns in a busy L&D unit
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal conditions using advanced fetal monitoring and EMR systems
• Assist with deliveries, including high-risk pregnancies such as PIH, preeclampsia, and preterm labor
• Administer medications, including magnesium sulfate, and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of OB/GYNs, charge nurses, and OB techs to ensure safe outcomes
• Float to the Mother Baby unit as needed and contribute to a baby-friendly environment
• Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery

Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Current BLS and NRP certifications
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
• COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption
• Proficiency with Cerner and Fetal Link EMR systems
• Ability to scrub for deliveries is a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Strong knowledge of high-risk obstetric conditions and interventions
• Skilled in using Cerner and Fetal Link charting systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced 12-hour night shift environment
• Understanding of maternal-fetal safety protocols
