Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate labor and delivery care to patients, including one-on-one support during labor
• Monitor fetal heart tracings using GE fetal monitors and respond promptly to changes
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections in a fast-paced maternal infant unit
• Deliver comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Care for newborns and support post-partum recovery for mothers and families
• Collaborate with nurses, OB techs, secretaries, and leadership to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes
• Document accurately in Meditech CPN electronic medical records

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• Experience with GE fetal monitors preferred
• LDRP experience and high birth volume experience are a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpreting tracings
• Strong knowledge of vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and antepartum care
• Comfortable with newborn and post-partum care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proficient with electronic medical records (Meditech, CPN)
