Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU using evidence-based practices
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic, respiratory, and other advanced monitoring data
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately, following hospital protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and lead emergent interventions as needed
• Perform thorough documentation in the patient record to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and ongoing care needs
• Mentor and support less experienced staff to foster a confident, capable unit

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to work in Louisiana or eligible to obtain LA RN licensure)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS required or obtained shortly after start
• Critical care certification such as CCRN preferred
• Prior ICU experience preferred; strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to pass facility-required screenings and background checks
• Professional, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ICU monitoring systems and advanced cardiac/respiratory devices
• Strong assessment skills for critically ill patients and rapid clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV infusion competency
• Familiarity with ventilator management and arterial/central line care
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
