Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Operate and manage advanced life support equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans
• Perform timely clinical assessments, document care in the electronic health record, and communicate effectively with families
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following protocols and verifying orders
• Act as a patient advocate and contribute to continuous improvement efforts on the unit

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (state licensure required; please ensure you meet Hawai'i licensing requirements)
• Recent ICU or critical care nursing experience (ICU competency is a primary requirement)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage critically ill patients and complex monitoring equipment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and intervention skills
• Ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Medication administration and IV infusion management
• Electronic health record documentation and clinical charting
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education
