Location: Frankfort, Kentucky

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Wednesday-Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts with every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to critically ill patients in a 10-bed ICU
Monitor and manage ventilators, chest tubes, central lines, and wound vacs
Perform post-dialysis assessments and blood transfusions with precision
Collaborate with physicians during procedures like paracentesis and therapeutic phlebotomy
Float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED as needed to support hospital-wide patient care
Document thoroughly using Meditech Expanse and communicate effectively with the care team

Qualifications

Active nursing license in good standing (compact license accepted)
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification (NIH must be renewed annually)
Comfortable managing CPAP/BiPAP, ports, and telemetry monitoring

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and rapid response skills in high-acuity settings
Proficient with Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, ventilators, and glucometers
Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, drains, central lines, and wound vacs preferred
Excellent communication and teamwork across disciplines
