Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Start Date: 09-07-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, with every other weekend rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert emergency care to patients presenting with a wide range of conditions, from minor injuries to complex traumas.
- Triage patients efficiently, prioritize care based on acuity, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver timely interventions.
- Utilize advanced assessment skills to stabilize critically ill patients and support families during emergencies.
- Work in a fast-paced Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, adapting quickly to changing patient needs.
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner, ensuring continuity and compliance with hospital standards.
- Act as a patient advocate, educating patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact or state-specific)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
- Experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center preferred
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (must be current before start)
- ENPC must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency Department nursing expertise
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- Knowledge of Level II trauma and stroke center protocols
- Ability to float to all sections of the ED
- Flexibility and adaptability in a high-volume environment
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
