Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the emergency department
Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced setting
Administer medications, start IVs and perform ED-specific procedures safely and accurately
Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Maintain clear, timely documentation in the electronic health record
Participate fully in orientation, unit-based training and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtained soon after hire
Previous ED or emergency nursing experience preferred
Comfortable with 12.5-hour shift work and adaptable scheduling
Strong clinical judgment, effective communication and teamwork skills

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Triage principles and emergency assessment skills
IV insertion, medication administration and basic ED procedures
Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
Critical thinking under pressure and rapid decision making
Excellent patient communication and family-centered care approach
