Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately in a high-acuity emergency setting
• Stabilize and manage emergency cases using evidence-based nursing interventions
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining safety and efficiency
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Perform and document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient education in the EHR
• Respond to critical events and assist with procedures as needed
• Support throughput and patient flow to optimize ED operations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN privileges as applicable)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Emergency Department experience preferred — per diem clinicians with prior ED exposure are highly valued
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to variable scheduling needs
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work under pressure

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency nursing assessments and triage
• Skillful in IV therapy, medication administration, and acute care interventions
• Experienced with electronic health record (EHR) documentation and workflows
• Ability to prioritize multiple high-acuity patients and multitask effectively
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and participating in team-based care
• Basic knowledge of ED protocols, triage systems, and common emergency presentations
