Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients of all ages
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including IV therapy and basic life support measures
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the care team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii licensure required or multistate Compact where applicable)
• Emergency nursing experience preferred; demonstrated comfort in ED/ER settings
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Current clinical skills in triage, IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency interventions
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team under pressure
• Ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and professional accountability

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of emergency nursing principles and triage processes
• Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
• Skilled in patient assessment, prioritization, and rapid decision making
• Familiarity with acute care procedures and emergency medications
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing clinical needs
• Strong teamwork, time management, and patient education abilities
