Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality hemodialysis treatments and monitor patient responses throughout each shift
• Assess, document and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team promptly
• Maintain vascular access and perform dialysis-related procedures according to unit protocols
• Collaborate with nephrology, pharmacy and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR) and follow infection control best practices
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, self-care and dialysis-related topics
• Support unit workflow and float to other areas of like or lower acuity when needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (Dialysis experience required)
• BLS certification required
• ICU experience strongly preferred
• EPIC experience preferred
• Experience with pheresis and infusion therapy is a plus
• Ability to float to other areas when competent and maintain professional communication

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong hands-on knowledge of hemodialysis equipment and procedures
• Vascular access care and troubleshooting
• Patient assessment, critical thinking and emergency response
• Infection prevention and control practices
• Comfortable with EMR charting, ideally EPIC
• Good patient education and communication skills
• Teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced unit
