Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on and evidence-based interventions to improve patient mobility and function
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the rehab team to coordinate excellent patient care
• Document patient progress accurately and timely in the facility EMR
• Educate patients and families on recovery goals, home programs, and safety
• Contribute to discharge planning to support safe transitions back to home or next level of care

Qualifications

• Current or eligible for California Physical Therapist license (state licensure required for practice)
• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (DPT preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Strong clinical assessment and manual therapy skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary setting
• Prior acute care or inpatient experience preferred but motivated new graduates encouraged to apply

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master's or Bachelor's in Physical Therapy considered when licensure credentials met

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and mobility interventions
• Knowledge of common inpatient diagnoses and related PT interventions
• Comfortable with short-term, goal-focused treatment planning
• Proficient in clinical documentation and electronic medical records
• Ability to prioritize caseload and adapt to changing patient needs
