Roles & Responsibilities

Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients regain function
Provide therapeutic exercises and mobility training focused on improving strength, balance, and independence
Support patients during functional activities and train them in safe movement strategies
Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist to ensure optimal outcomes
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of therapy sessions to support continuity of care
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care

Qualifications

Active New Mexico Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required
Current BLS/CPR certification required
Previous rehabilitation, SNF, or outpatient experience preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a team
Comfortable with timely, accurate documentation and patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on patient care and therapeutic exercise techniques
Mobility training and fall prevention strategies
Clinical documentation and progress reporting
Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
Ability to follow treatment plans developed by the supervising PT
