Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during a variety of orthodontic procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to support accurate diagnoses and treatment planning
- Educate patients on orthodontic care, including how to maintain braces, aligners, and retainers
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans using practice management software
- Provide a welcoming and positive experience for every patient, helping them feel at ease throughout their visit
Qualifications
- Must be orthodontic assistant certified
- Experience as a dental assistant, preferably in orthodontics
- Current radiography (X-ray) certification preferred
- CPR/BLS certification is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and terminology
- Proficiency with dental practice management software, including Denticon
- Strong patient care and customer service skills
- Understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively with the orthodontic team
