Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams, procedures, and adjustments
• Prepare orthodontic instruments, materials, and treatment rooms
• Take and mount dental radiographs and intraoral scans as needed
• Educate patients on appliance care and orthodontic hygiene
• Maintain meticulous sterilization and infection control standards
• Document treatment updates accurately in the denticon system

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant or completion of a dental assisting program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in orthodontic assisting is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of dental radiography and safety protocols
• Familiarity with denticon or similar dental practice management software

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry
• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, brackets, bands, and wires
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients of all ages
• Detail-oriented with excellent sterilization and infection control practices
• Comfortable using dental software for patient charting and scheduling
