Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams, bonding, appliance adjustments, and other procedures
• Prepare and organize treatment rooms, instruments, and materials
• Take and process dental radiographs, photos, and impressions
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Help patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit
• Maintain accurate patient records and support smooth clinic operations

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or radiography certification (as required by Maryland)
• Prior experience in orthodontics or dental assisting is a plus
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, sterilizing techniques, and patient care
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, friendly attitude
• Ability to stand for long periods and assist chairside with manual dexterity

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and equipment
• Ability to take impressions, X-rays, and intraoral scans
• Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems
• Organizational skills to keep the clinic running efficiently
• Compassion and attention to detail in every patient interaction
