Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during a variety of procedures, keeping patients comfortable and confident
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready for each appointment
• Take dental X-rays and impressions with precision and care
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and orthodontic hygiene
• Maintain accurate patient records and help keep the practice running smoothly

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training is preferred
• Current X-ray certification (required in Maryland)
• Experience in orthodontics or a strong desire to learn
• A warm, patient-friendly approach and excellent communication skills
• CPR/BLS certification is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control
• Skill in taking intraoral X-rays and dental impressions
• Ability to explain orthodontic care to patients in plain language
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Team collaboration and the ability to anticipate doctor needs
