Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a clean, safe environment
• Take and process dental X-rays as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care, making them feel at ease
• Maintain accurate patient records and support the front office team with appointment flow

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Dental Assistant in Maryland (or eligible to obtain certification)
• Prior experience in orthodontics is a plus, but we welcome passionate dental assistants ready to learn
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong attention to detail and a warm, patient-centered attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of chairside assisting techniques and 4-handed dentistry
• Familiarity with orthodontic tools, brackets, wires, and aligners
• Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards
• Ability to take high-quality dental X-rays
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
