Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain timely and accurate patient records and documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Supervise and mentor Assistant/Aide staff in accordance with governing board guidance
• Design and fabricate splints per physicians' prescriptions to improve function and comfort
• Create and administer individualized treatment programs to raise residents' levels of functioning
• Deliver therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination
• Collaborate with the rehab team to develop meaningful goals and measure patient progress

Qualifications

• Missouri state OT license (required) — compact allowed
• Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience (LTC or rehab experience required)
• New graduates considered if they have Level II fieldwork experience (Level I observational experience alone is not sufficient)
• Experience supervising assistants/aides or willingness to take on supervisory responsibilities
• Strong patient documentation skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in splint fabrication and therapeutic exercise prescription
• Knowledgeable in treatment planning and designing programs to improve ADLs and functional outcomes
• Comfortable performing range of motion assessment and fine-motor coordination interventions
• Proficient in timely, accurate patient documentation
• Ability to supervise and communicate effectively with assistant staff and interdisciplinary team members
