NICU Registered Nurse - Travel
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Start Date: 09-21-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, specialized care to critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU with 51 beds
- Monitor and assess neonatal patients, adjusting care plans for ratios from 1:1 to 1:4
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and neonatal resuscitation per NRP guidelines
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and a dedicated nursing team
- Support and educate families with warmth and clarity during their NICU journey
- Document accurately in Cerner EMR and float to Peds, PICU, or Mother Baby as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Level III or higher NICU experience required
- Current NRP certification required
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Stable and NIC-RNC certifications are a plus
- Detail-oriented and organized with a calm, focused presence
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neonatal assessment and critical care skills
- Knowledge of NRP and neonatal resuscitation protocols
- Comfortable working with 1:1 to 1:4 patient ratios
- Proficient in Cerner EMR charting
- Excellent teamwork and communication with a multidisciplinary team
- Adaptability to float within NICU, Peds, PICU, and Mother Baby units
