Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to laboring patients from admission through delivery
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using established protocols and fetal monitoring equipment
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn assessments as needed
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, and neonatal teams to ensure safe outcomes
• Educate patients and families about labor progress, procedures, and postpartum care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient teaching accurately in the medical record
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and escalating clinical situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio (License/Certificate Verification required)
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Must meet health and screening requirements: Fit Test, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, Trinity Color Vision
• Up-to-date immunizations and screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, and 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/T-Spot)
• Physical/Health Statement confirming ability to perform job duties

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery practices and maternal-fetal physiology
• Skill in electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Neonatal resuscitation skills and familiarity with immediate newborn care
• Ability to triage and prioritize rapidly in a busy clinical environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary teams
• Patient education, cultural sensitivity, and family-centered care approach
