Location: Lanham, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per Diem / As Needed, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (Night shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance
Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to promote resident independence
Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
Support meal assistance and feeding as needed, ensuring dignity and comfort
Maintain clean, safe resident environments by following infection control procedures
Document care activities and observations accurately and timely
Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

GNA certification or equivalent required (Class: GNA)
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements (immunizations, TB screening)
Reliable, professional, and comfortable working overnight hours
Strong communication skills and a caring attitude toward older adults

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic patient care techniques for geriatric populations
Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
Ability to observe, record, and communicate changes in resident condition
Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
Respectful, patient-centered approach to resident interactions
