Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly and accurately
• Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to residents and families
• Follow care plans and infection control protocols to ensure resident safety
• Assist with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics to protect residents and staff
• Document care provided and maintain accurate records as directed by facility policies

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
• Comfort working overnight hours and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic elder care principles and common geriatric concerns
• Ability to follow care plans and report observations clearly
• Safe transfer and lifting techniques
• Infection control and hand hygiene practices
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with dementia or memory-impaired residents
