Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Days vary (per diem), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to geriatric residents during the night shift
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Perform safe transfers and fall prevention measures to maintain resident safety
- Complete timely and accurate documentation of care, observations, and interventions
- Support mealtime assistance and basic comfort measures during overnight hours
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health/immunization requirements
- Dependable night-shift availability and strong teamwork mindset
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skill in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Clear communication with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Infection control practices and attention to resident safety
