Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team
• Implement and monitor infection prevention protocols to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Educate residents and staff on infection control practices and hand hygiene
• Assist with daily living activities and ensure resident comfort and dignity
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centered care
• Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
• Current CPR certification
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric care preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including evenings
• Completion of COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of infection control principles and best practices
• Understanding of resident care standards and regulations
• Ability to follow individualized care plans and document accurately
• Compassion, patience, and empathy for elderly residents
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills
• Effective teamwork and collaboration abilities
