Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, days vary, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (day)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
Assist residents with mobility and safe transfers while maintaining dignity
Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
Help create a warm, respectful environment that promotes quality of life for each resident

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire as required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric care is a plus
Ability to pass background check and drug screen, and meet facility onboarding requirements
Reliable, compassionate, and able to work independently on per diem assignments

Education

High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused caregiving
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
Basic clinical and observation skills to report changes in condition
Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Familiarity with infection control practices and documentation/charting
